Hi,
Im new to the site and i'd just like to say firstly that it is very informative and has helped me with a fair few problems I have had so far.

After reading about enabling ports for Bittorent, i went ahead and did it( in my Netcomm NB1300 router and Windows firewall) enabling a few different sets of ports in case my ISP had throttled the 6881-6889 which I have read is the case sometimes.

After doing all this, i noticed a slight jump in the speed, maybe 4-5k/s but that's about it? I am on a 512k/s plan with my ISP.

Can anyone give me a hint as to why I am still experiencing slow D/L speeds of a popular torrent? (about 10 k/s :-( ).
Cheers!

Have u taken a online NAT test?. Here is a good one:

~*~ https://grc.com/x/portprobe=

...after = put in port # ur using, leave client on, run the test and hope it comes back "open!".

If it doesn't, then its either ur router/firewall(s) ports weren't properly forwarded or maybe ur modem has a built in firewall.

;-D

No sig for u!.
