Hello,
Is there a program out there that would allow me to tag mp3 files by importing tab-delimited (e.g. CSV) files or m3u/pls playlists?

I have a number of folders with Track01, Track02, etc. files but find it tedious to rename them one by one.

Thanks in advance.

if you have the full albums, you can just use a tagging program (the best one out there is called Tag&Rename) and it will automatically access the freedB and tag your files for you

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Thanks, djscoop, for your suggestion. Problem is the files/albums I need tagged are personal compilations, i.e. not commercially available CDs. So, connecting to freedb won't do.

Tag& Rename does allow one to export playlists to comma- or tab-delimited files. What I need though is an application that does exactly the reverse -- IMPORT m3u/pls playlists or CSV files -- which would then allow me to tag my Track01, Track02, etc. files.

interesting, I have not come across a program that can tag files based on a playlist, but I will keep my eyes out for one.
