hi, i've been wondering for some time now if it's possible to rip the streams coming on the internet but not live or if it's possible to somehow gain the music files that audio websites use. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

use a program called sound forge. Set it up to record any sound you are listening to on your computer speakers. The quality will be as good as you can hear it playing on your speakers.

will it really be as good as the quality i hear on my speakers, because i've tried many programs that record the music but the quality is nowhere near as good. Thanks for answering.

Dude:

Try "Replay Music" at www.replay-music.com

Not only will Replay Music record Internet music streams to a relatively high-quality MP3 file, it will also ID most of the songs, cut them, and place them neatly in a folder for you. You need to record at least at 256kbps to get good quality - 128kbps sucks.

They have a trial version. You have nothing to lose.

yh, but won't 256kbps files be massive for small songs? I'll try out both and see for myself.

This is a free program and it will record what it hears from the internet, works really well and you can save it in mp3 or wav format

The files are not going to be 'massive' - they are mp3 files. Yes, they will be 2x as big as a 128kbps mp3 file. But they sound much better.

The good thing is, you can try out both speeds and see what you like. I think there are other speeds as well. Knock yourself out.

I use StationRipper. Older versions let you stream up to 8 stations at a time from Shoutcast. Only problem is finding shoutcast streams that dont mess with the crossfade and mess up your mp3 splitting.
