how can you burn downloaded ps2 games????

Im having some trouble understanding how to burn downloaded ps2 games on CD and playing them on the playstation 2

basically my cousin downloaded the ps2 game GTA on my PC from bitcomet. he then expected me to do whatever else was required and play the game on the ps2. but thats where im completely stuck.i dont know how to do that. can anyone please tell me how i can burn the ps2 game on a cd and play it on my ps2. the game is currently on my hard drive in a folder. i've read that some people suggest using mod chip, but i dont know what that is. and is it something i have to buy or can i download it off the net. can anyone give me step by step instruction on how to go about burning the ps2 game.

PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.

So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.

Most ps2 games are DVD format you cant fit them on a cd-r.

Before you waste dvd's you MUST have a modchip or swapmagic disks with a tool to open the tray.

And to copy ps2 dvd games you need a dvd burner.
(Even if they are downloaded you still need a dvd burner)

thanks for your reply.
ive actually got software of swap magic v2.0

is this enough to actually start the process of pressing the cd. you say that i either need swap magic or modchip. as i have swap magic, should this work. what is the next step you would advise me to take. its just that im fairly new to playing ps2 games, which have been downloaded off the net, therefore im nowhere near as technical as u or the other guys on this forum. thats where i hope u can come in and help me out.

what would be the next step in your opinion?

You need a DVD burner a cd-r burner wont do the job.

The older version of swap magic arent as compatible as the newer
version.
Also for swap magic to work you have to have a way to eject the disc
without pressing the eject button.
The tool used for this will vary depending on your version ps2.
You can see a pic of my ver 7 above.

I would suggest you buy the new sewap magic disks 3.6 and
a fliptop kit.

At the very least you will need a tool, and with tat old ver of swapmagic,
you will need to atch/fix all the newer games so its in you
best intrest to get the newer verson. (3.3 or higher)
