my ups came with Winstar 2002 software. When the computer goes on standby after the specified period of inactivity (fans, disks, system powered down),the software apparently sees that as a power failure even though there isn't. Then when the computer comes out of standby, the software gives an access violation message and immediately shuts down the computer. On restarting the
log file of the program then shows low battery and mains failure.
I can use the ups w/o the software, but would prefer to have it running in the event that the computer is unsupervised during a real power failure.
I tried using the UPS control built into Windows but it doesn't support my UPS.
I would be grateful for any advice.
Many thanks.
