Hi, I appreciate any help.
I have the latest version of dvd-rb and followed the instructions for setting it up to the letter but the dvd I burn will not play in my dvd player (Sony dvp-nc600). The computer will play it fine but the dvd player just makes noises for a few seconds and says no disc. I used dvd decypher to rip the dvd, then used daemon tools to mount the iso. Dvd-rb then takes about 3 hours to compress and encode the movie (not using cce) and finally I convert the data files to iso with folder2iso. I tried buning the disc with nero 6 on a dvd-rw and dvd+rw, with burn image and Iso burn, neither work in dvd player. The media I am using works fine with my dvd player using other programs but it is Fujifilm dvd.

I assume there is a step I am missing or do not have something right in the settings in dvd-rb but im not positive.

Thanks for the help.

DVD-R & DVD+R or did you mean what you typed? DVD-RW / DVD+RW?

If it's a RW disc your DVD Player probably doesn't support rewritable discs

Thanks, I never thought of that, All the other movies I backed up have been on DVD-R. I was out so I guess I just grabbed whatever was there. I will try after I get some DVD-R later, thanks again.
I did just end up backing it up on a DVD+R DL uncompressed and it played so maybe my player wont play -rw and +rw, it is getting kind of old.

I have had trouble when creating an iso from Folder2iso, actually, I had the exact same problem as you, my Sony standalone would not play it. My suggestion, don't use folder2iso anymore. Just burn the files with Nero, or use Imgtool Classic to create the iso and burn with Imgburn, DVD Decrypter, or Nero. I have never had a problem when I created the iso using Imgtool Classic. Here is the link for download:

Just make sure you download Imgtool Classic and NOT Imgtool Burn.

Thanks for the help, I am going to try and see if this works right after dinner. What does Imgtool do?

It will create an iso file from the DVD folder you created...basically it does the same thing that folder2iso does but I've never had a problem with the iso created with Imgtool. Just keep doing all the steps you have been doing up to this point, but just replace the program folder2iso with Imgtool Classic.
