Just got mine in today getting ready to go home and open it up but have 2 more questions....Is it okay to leave it on top of the tv ? next to my center channel speaker ? and does it need to be plugged into the outlet direct or can i use a power strip ?

I wouldn't put it next to the center channel speaker just because there may be concerns with airflow. You really need good ventilation with this sucker and not just with the console but also with the power supply. Definitely use a power strip but if you can get a power conditioner for your entire system all the better.
