Hi,
quick question. Is it possible in any way to play a PAL version PS2 game on an American NTSC PS2 V.9?
Thanks

Quick answer.. yes, it may be possible if you have a modchip that allows forcing the screen mode.. or might work with swap magic 3 and above if you set the screen mode in the options.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Ok, both suggestions sound good which would you suggest though for me??? I DO have a chip in my system, it is a Magic Pro. Also, regarding patching, is there somewhere where I could find the specific instructions for doing just that. I already have the game backed up on my PC in an .iso form.
Thanks again

Ok, I figured out how to patch from PAL to NTSC. Quite simple as the software simply does it by selecting the games .iso file and finds the correct file within to patch. Glad that was easy. Burning now and will give it a try in about 20 minutes. I'll report back if anyone cares to hear the outcome.

The patch is complete and the game has been burned. It works great! : ) The PAL2NTSC software I downloaded from that site worked great. There is an option to create a menu (called PN LOADER in the conversion software and I just checked off the box)which brings up a menu when you start the game that allows you to select a few different screen options in case the default one was screwy or not lined up/centered properly as I guess this is an issue from PAL to NTSC. I simply selected the default and it worked just fine, the screen is centered, and not cropped off anywhere.

Look in my profile---> links page, and look for a link to a thread titled "ps2 programs".. it has loads of useful programs in there including the pal2mtsc and ntsc2pal,WinRAR etc.
