A couple few months ago I picked myself up a Hitachi 57F710A 57" CRT Projection HDTV (happy birthday to me from me). While I was flipping through Socom3 options I ran across the setting where you can change it to high definition. It didn't work so I called Hitachi to see what was the deal. They told me I needed the hi-def PS2 cables. SO... I run out today and picked up some hi-def Monster Cables and hooked the PS2 back up. For some reason I am still in the same boat I was in to start with. It sets itself back to the original setting and says I need a HDTV. I have set here pulling out my hair looking at all the settings trying to figure out why this isn't working. I'm not sure if this is a television or PS2 question so if I put this in the wrong place I apologize.
That looks like a normal cable to me, not component rgb. This one is just better quality and has an s-video cable. The one you should get looks like this:
Like you see it has rgb cables for video, and two cables for audio.
I have s-video in the cable but that one you posted looks like it has one extra cable output on it. The quality of the one I have is absolutely awesome. My picture quality went up at least 30-40%. I called BestBuy where I purchased it and they said the actual PS2 cable(which Sony told me I needed) was piss poor quality.
