Hi ,

I just got my swap magic 3.6 discs the other day and i had a few backups ready to try when it got here. They are all pal version games; I can run
one of them, but the remaining 2 both just load to a black screen / scrolling screen ( running it in ntsc mode from sm) . I have tried re burning the games in case it was just a bad couple of discs and had no luck. I have checked where I acquired the other 2 backups and they mention something called a 50/60hz selector being built in, but since i cannot see the screen how am i supposed to select it or what do i do with games that are packaged with thsi selector. anyhow needless to say i am very stumped. So i assume that the selector thing is what is causing the problems becuase i can run the other pal game flawlessly. The media i am using works with other backups so i know that is not the cause.

Anyhow any insight would be greatly appreciated I am not making any progress on my own. Thanks in advance for the aid

So, let me get this straight.. you have an NTSC ps2 and are trying to play PAL games, but have the screen mode selector set to NTSC??..

If you're trying to play PAL games on NTSC console, you select PAL video mode.. doesn't always work I think, but worth a shot.. if it doesn't work then you need to patch the iso with a pal2ntsc patcher program... look it up in the stickies..

ya i realize that sounds odd but that is the only way it plays it will play fine in NTSC mode but if i switch it to PAL as suggested it gives me the same problem i had initially (scrolling lines and whatnot) so i suppose i will try the second method thanks for the info.

Thank you so much ... the patching worked finally got it to load and i see the 50/60hz change thing as well .. thank you once again for helping me through these rough times figuring out this stuff
