Okay, I have read all the sticky threads and searched through alot of these posts but I cant find a solution so I am going to post it.
I downloaded a game (wont say what and where because of the rules) but I go to extract the rar files to an iso, there are a bunch or winrar files of course but then there are some other files im not familiar with, they say R36 file, R37 file, ect. and they are all the same size, do i need these files to burn the iso?? I go ahead and extract just the winrar ones and it creates an ISO, then I burn using dvd dec. and use the swap magic on my ps2 and the game will not load up!! just black screen forever..... It could be the media I am using IMATION DVD-r, or it could be Im not extracting correctly??
any help would be appreciated.

At least tell us the name of the game..

and yes it's most likely the crappy imation media.. if you have an iso file after extracting from rar files then all should be ok.. just burn the iso onto good quality media.

You need DVDR+ TDK is the best type.

Click on the first file to extract the ISO. Burn only the ISO at 4X speed using DVD Decrypter

TDK is certainly not the best media available for the PS2. Occasionally it'll code out as Taiyo Yuden, but rarely. It's not worth buying MIJ TDK's in hopes of getting TY, you've got a much better chance of Fuji or Sony Made in Japan coding out to TY. If you get TDK media that's made in Taiwan, you could end up with CMC Mag. :(

Yeah, I just did a search, and the general view is that it doesn't need to be rebuilt etc.. just try better media.
