Every once in awhile, my backups lose music ingame. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

You can never make a perfect copy of a game. There will always be small errors. However the best I can tell you is to burn with DVD Decrypter. Use verbatim DVD-R format disks. Burn at 1x speed or lower if possible and check the box verify after write. I know it will take longer but it may work. and this is my guide to backing up and playing ps2 DVD games:
