SO I'm having trouble connecting to Live through the Halo 2 Sign In screen. I have a live account that was setup when i got the 360. THere are no network problems, seeing as I have succesfully downloaded the Call Of Duty 2 demo to my 360 with no problems. SO, Live works just fine with the 360, but when I try to sign in through the Halo 2 screen, it gives me the error message that it cannot connect to Xbox Live and gives me the option to Cancel or Start The Troubleshooter, I have started the troubleshooter and everything ran fine. I contacted my ISP about maybe having to enter PPPoE information, and they said it would not be required. I also have no family settings on the Xbox. I have read where one solution is turn the family settings so that it allows original xbox games to be played, access live, etc... I have all family settings turned off curently, after having tried every configuartion that the forums suggested to fix this family settings problem. What can I do to play Halo 2 Live on my Xbox 360?????

First, you need to go to the dashboard, and I dont mean the one on the controller, I mean start the machine without a game in it. Then go to recover your xbox live gamertag (if you havent already). Go to the dashboard on the controller and go to your profile and select personal settings. After that, make sure that you have auto-sign-in to Xbox Live. If you dont have it enabled, enable it. Turn off your system. Turn it back on and put in Halo 2. Try to sign into Xbox Live and see what it says. If it still doesnt work, call Microsoft about the problem. Their number is 1-800-4-MY-XBOX.

i had the exact same problem Jweezy86, you need to go to the 360 dashboard, go to the settings, and it has an option so that you're able to play old xbox games on live on your 360. enable it or w/e, then it should work.

I never had to do that before just to play an old Xbox game. I just put on my hard drive and played.

I had the same problem, But then a message popped up saying i have to Up-date my Xbox360 to be able to play the Old top Xbox games offline and online.Oh and also if you turn on the Xbox360 with Halo2 in it already, Just press the Xbox symbol on the controller and press Y, it will take you to the Xbox360 Dashboard, Then if you ain't signed in you will have the option "Connect to Xbox live" You have to do it separate because its the Old game with the new Box.

Thanks for the info guys. I just went through all the settings, and I've noticed i don't have the option of allowing or not allowing "original games" to be played on my system. Halo 2 works just fine in single player, but when I go to family settings there is nothing about original games, I will try to sign in how the previous person suggested. I still don't think the proble will be solved though, if I don't think that the Xbox has been updated, but it thinks it has, would it be possible to search for updates??

Do you not have the harddrive for the 360? You cant play origional games on the 360 without the harddrive.

Yeah I do have the har drive. Like I said, Halo 2 works just fine, except for when I try to sign into Live. I've tried everything everyone has suggested (much appreciation)but it is still not working. When I go to console settings it doesn't even have any setting related to "original" xbox games. DO you think that means it didn't update itself???? It did go through an update screen when I first booted up Halo2 but it didn't even last long enough for a loading screen to pop up...

"Anyone know if Fifa Street 2 will work on the 360?"
Don't know, Maybe, only the top Xbox games work on the Xbox360, and i herd that people going to sell Modded HHDS.
Wont be cheap, HDDS are £99.99
So modded HDDS will be around £125-£150. If they WERE made.
