These are some of the best dvd best softwares in the market.
There are (1) WinAvi for converting rmvb file to dvd files and others. (2)Divxtodvd (0.95ver) a very fast converter and is free.
(3)Dvd shrink a freeware that can do a wonder ie it can combine various dvd file to one dvd disk and burn it to disk using dvd dry or nero. (4)Anydvd and clonedvd the best I come acroos so far can encry the latest protection with anydvd and clonedvd is excellent dvd copier with fast copy engine and a good trancoder.
With all these software in your pc almost nothing is impossible.

You forgot to mention dvd-rb/hcenc which is not only one of the best backup utility combos (second only to dvd-rb pro/cce video quality wise) but the beta vs of dvd-rb is free and so is hc encoder by hanks. Another excellent free proggy you forgot to mention for burning iso files is imgburn.
Especially where a lot of compression is required, DVD Shrink and CloneDVD can't hold a candle to dvd-rb/hc video quality wise.

The latest AnyDVD is 5941 not 5911 or 5921.
dvd shrink and DVD Decrypter are good but they are no more updating.
Meanwhile nero7 still having bugs it is advisable to stay with Nero 6. VOB blanker is of no use to me as I am using CloneDVD any AnyDVD.
If you want better result with compression I would suggest using dvd rebuilder.

Never used DVD rebuilder, I am happy with my choices because they work with really complicated disc. I know about the updates and I chosen to stay with 5.9.1.1 the other updates present no real advancees or changes. I think these last 3 updates to combat something I have no concern with. I'll update when I have trouble with 5.9.1.1 or when SlySoft makes some major inprovements like the ones in software version 5.9.1.1. CloneDVD2 I have the lastest 2.8.8.2 version that also boast some new improvements. I find Nero Recode2 is faster and works better picture quality anyway. Try the latest VOB Blanker 2.0.1.1 in "Auto Mode" (No editing or toying around for results) and you will be hooked.

I take it that when you said "Best Softwares" means from ripping to quality wise. Below is what I primarily used and it has never let me down.
<><> Method 1 <><>
<1> DVDFAB Decrypter (2.9.7.2 or higher) to rip the movie
<2> VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 to PROCESS the VIDEO_TS.IFO (and to strip/blank out fbi warnings, previews/trailers, useless junks/craps or dummy pgcs.)
<3> Nero Recode 2 "AA + HQSR" to transcode/encode
<4> Nero Burning Rom to burn my final VIDEO_TS or DVD Decrypter to burn my final ISO file.
<><> Method 2 <><>
<1> PgcEdit to rip via DVD Decrypter with PSL plugins supported (another flawless method)
<2> FixVTS to process any left over craps, junks, bad sectors, etc.
<3> DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE SP to encode (one of the top/best encoder)
<4> Nero Burning Rom to burn my final VIDEO_TS or DVD Decrypter to burn my final ISO file.

I read where software combinations are mostly used to successfully back-up a given movie. And traditionally I would say this the way to go and still is viable for some trickey encryption that you encounter on some flicks. Today though with the ever improving performance of decryption software like AnyDVD & Vob Blanker it now possible to back up a movie packed with the latest encryptions using just one these softwares mentioned and a burning software of your choice.
I am really pleased with AnyDVD's enovations that now include removing bad Vob files. This has now made it possible to use just use AnyDVD and NERO6 or 7 Recode2 for example or you can just run a movie through Vob Blanker, this may take a little longer but this software too with it's new auto mode feature allows you to just set your input and ouput destinations, click process and your done.
What's really cool is your have the option of using either software and benefit from purchasing AnyDVD or taking advantage of Vob Blanker being freeware. Both allow you to make overall short work or effort in backing up a movie and like I mentioned movies with the now a day encycryption combos like SONY Arccos/Puppet Lock/RipGuard/Invalid Vob's so far, you name it and these two softwares are on their job. If AnyDVD doesn't do it then Vob Blanker.:P
