lmao... thats because all xbox 360s have the exact same problem, there no holes in the power supply for hot air to escape so they overheat and crash... get on the phone to microsoft and they should be able to sort the problem for you or perhaps even replace the console for one with a corretly functioning power supply

Make sure that your 360 is not in a tight or closed place, like near other electrics or in a glass cupboard. I have my 360 in an open space, no crashes so far (since 12/2005).

yeh thats a good idea... try n keep your 360 in a cold place so the PSU doesnt get hot enough to crash... if your really feeling adventurous (and have money to burn if it goes wrong :S) you could open up your 360, remove the power supply, open that up (just to make sure you dont hit anything internally) and drill your own air holes into the power supply casing... this would guarantee your 360 wont ever crash again as it wont get hot enough.
im not reccomending that you do that though as it most definately voids your warranty and playing with power supplys is a dangerous thing to do at the best of times as they store high voltages in the capicitors

hmmmmm... my 360 is well ventilated, but the PSU sits in my wardrobe. I cant really find anywhere to put it that it doen't get in the way.
Am I right in saying it shouldn't be near the console?

Mine only freezes not all the time but sometimes with NFS most wanted..my other games like kameo, and quake, have never ever froze on me. In Nfs i blame the disc it self, cuz it only freezes while it trys t o load the music. Ever since i turned the music tracks off it has stop freezing on me.

My system only has problems with NFS , does fine with the other games. There is a fan you can buy from Gamestop, its called a fan stand your Xbox 360 stands vertical in the stand ,there is a fan built in the bottom, from the back of the stand there is a USB ...plug that in next to the ethernet port(there is a usb there)
there is a on and off switch so you can turn it off and on. I bought mine for $19.00 it seems to be working . Here is the link.

if you still can id seriously take your 360 back to where you got it.. the newer 360s dont have the problem with the power supply. take it back and swap it for a brand spankin new one (if you can that is)

The stand adds extra fan to cool your Xbox 360 internally because when you put your 360 vertical on the stand your vent holes on the side sit on top of the fan which then blows air inside your 360 which helps keep it cool. Its a suggestion, for people who have a 360 and want to add some xtra cooling without voiding your warranty. If the 360 is locking up all the time return your system like the rest of us have and get a new system.(xbox is replaceing the systems and not trying to fix them, thus you get a new system)

Thats a good suggestion by UHALL people have also had success by putting something under the power supply to prop it up.

Mine is hooked up thru the supplied cable I would get the premium system it comes with most of the toys you will buy anyway. Has anyone tried the wireless adapter?? for the 360? Just curious to see how it works.
