I just purchashed an ipod video, white, 30 gb. I after i installed iTunes, it said that my ipod needed to be updated. so it updated and now im angry becuase when i hold down menu, the backlight will not turn on! The backlight only goes on if i go in the setting and do it from there. I dont like this because i use that feature a lot. can somebody help me to undo the changes or fix the problem. help would be much appreciated

Downgrade your firmware back to 1.0, which is what it would have been origionally. The version 1.1 firmware has given may people bugs & issues..this being one of the most common ;-)

To downgrade, open up the origional updater (The one you loaded off your software CD), then connect your iPod to your PC and click 'restore' once the initialization is complete. I am 99% sure that will be problem solved! :-)

Lethal B thanks alot for your quick response, however, the updating window came after i installed itunes from the internet. you see, the one i got from the box, the iTunes cd, was iTunes 6.0.2, and i was having problems with that one ( the problem was that when i tried to open iTunes, a message came up that said iTunes has encountered an error, and needs to close, then it gave me an option to send an error report) however that problem was solved with a simple update to iTunes 6.0.3. So, can you help me to find out how i can downgrade, using the internet, or iTUnes 6.0.3, because i dont have that disc. help would be much appreciated.
