I am using Azureous with a 3mb internet connection. My download limit is 389kbs / upload limit is 89kb. Currently while downloading on Azureus my download only rates from 70-100 and my upload it's always at 80kbs. More I see that the upload is more than my download. Should I change client ?

Im not great on the bit torrent thing, but from weeks of trying to get mine to work i have some idea. I use Azureus and its pretty good for me, but i keep getting told Utorrent is the best. Dont forget if you are downloading large files you sometime have to wait up to 30mins to get full d/l speed, also a file that has alot of seeders will get a max d/l rate and something that has one or none will get slow d/l rate, DAMN LEECHERS! i seed everything i d/l, just be patient, thats the problem i had, i would see it going at like 40/70KBPS and be like "OMG its not working, PANIC, quick, www.afterdawn.com, GUYS! WTFOMG is going on its going soooooooooo slow, argh!" then i was told to "Chill out mon, sit back relax and wait 20mins, then watch the good times roll". now im gettting 240/270KBPS d/l on a 1MB connection!

Screw NG's

to change the U/L rate, change your connection speed to like 300KB/s in the options on Azureus, wont affect D/L speed. But will drop you U/L speed to like 40KB/s

Sorry told you wrong thing, go to Tools>Configuration Wizard>Next>From the Combo box change the setting to adsl/cable xxx/384 Kbps. That will change your max up speed to 40Kbps

1. What is the size of the file?

2. Where did you get the file from? E.g. Isohunt or Demenoid

3. What are the SEEDS and what are the PEERS of the file?

4. Do you use a router?

5. If you use a router have you done port forwading?

Right now Azureus is eating up my upload speed at 85kbs. My download is only at 23kbs right now. Only 1GB left and I close Azureus and start a new torrent client, cause this sucks!

@ Goody317

U can limit the upload speed in that individual torrent to boost download speed untill finished, put it to 35-45/kbs. But as u have more leechers than seeders ur bound to get better upload speeds. But once done put upload back to max. This always increases my speeds.

If ur looking for ur max speeds, join a private torrent site, d/l healthy torrents and use ”Torrent.

Heres a link to ”Torrent homepage:

Hope this helps ;-D

No sig for u!.

All the questions you answered sound like you have done everyhing perfect, but yeah listen to cbrooks, get utorrent it heard its the best, otherwise all i can say is sit it out, you have more peer than seeds so u/l is gonna hit you more that d/l speed

good man that was a s good as you were gonna get....

Next time check and see where everybody else is in there downloads...If there are a lot of people who havent gotten as far as you you are gonna upload to them til they get even with you...

so just lower the up speed on the particular torrent and leave it on overnight...

I waited 2 weeks for a 5 gb file to finish on a public tracker...

Another question - would deleting a download hurt my future download rates ? because I've deleted the current download with a better one and the speed I tell you is 2kbs lol.
