I have been having this (i think) ever since I installed my ata150 80gb western digital hard drive. Basically, this is what happens:

When I tranfer one file from my c drive (not ata drive rather IDE) to my d drive(the ata150 drive), everything is fine. When both windows of the drives are open, the computer runs smooth. But, when I close one drive window, and then the next, Dr. watson post mortem debugger starts, explorer restarts, half of task bar icons disappear, and the system goes on pretty smooth.Sometimes, the post mortem debugger stays on and the computer freezes and restarting is needed.

I posted this problem on the forum earlier and was told to check my event logger. Basically the error is winlogon and the error says the "shell stopped unexpectaly and explored needed to restart". So what in the world is going on? I have been having this problem for ages and have been learning to deal with it. But today, just a simple moving of a file within the drive causes the explorer to restart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
