I FINALLY got my Xbox360 on Friday, and actually got suckered into buying Fight Night 3 from some great reviews from the sales guys. Normally I don't take advice like that, but I'm glad I did this time. What an AMAZING game. The graphics are the best I have ever seen on any game...and the actual gameplay is great. You'd almost think you were watching a real bout.

The "Create a Champ" feature is pretty slick too...you can make your boxer look like just about any male you can picture...within reason (ie. you can't make a 500 lb midget.) The career mode is great too...

On another note, I bought NHL2k6 and Madden...the hockey game is OK, and the Madden game is actually pretty damn good despite a lot of the bitching I've heard. All the important features are there.

I cannot wait to see what this highly anticipated Madden '07 is going to be like...GameStop is taking preorders already, for August.

We have to wait till 10/03/06 (Europe) for FN3 :-(

I'm going to be so skint in March! FN3 is a must, ES:Oblivion is a must, GRAW is a must. Those games cost 150 james brown's.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those who know binary, and those who don't

That zoning crap is about as cool as herpes. You shouldn't have to wait for it...release dates should be universal. Goddamn, I hate marketing people!!

I also have been very impressed with FNR3. My one gripe: it's a little too easy. I'm 12-0 with 12 KOs with Marvin Hagler, even though I'm usually lower rated than my competitor. I'd like to go the distance more often. Other than that though, this game is phenomenal.

Well, you are a lot better than I am...for probably several reasons.

I've owned PS2, and PS1 going back years...I am not very comfortable with the XBox controls yet, although the boxing is coming to me somewhat naturally (re-learning Madden has been awful!) For this duration, I rarely played anything but EA's Madden and NHL series (and some first-person shooters on my Mac.)

I messed around with the 'play now' feature or whatever its called at first, and have really liked using Jake LaMotta...and Sugar Ray Leonard, until my buddy (who had never played) whooped my ass with Marvin Hagler. I have also been playing a career mode with this total badass looking mf'er that I created. He started off 6-0, and won the amateur belt for heavyweight...then I got a chance to fight a big name heavyweight for some exposure...and got destroyed. I got beat in my next fight as well...then I retired the S.O.B. Gonna have to create a new guy tonight.

A few things I would add to improve the game (although its quite flawless):

?A "create your own ring girls" feature, so you can have some really hot ass holding up those "round 3" type signs...the default girls are too waify thin, with obvious boobjobs. I want some curvy redheads with some big naturals.
?Some way to import tattoo designs with vector or bitmap art files.
?A way to add your own mp3's to the sound track (or can you do this already???)...I think it would be hilarious to have some totally flaming boxer be introduced to the beat of Abba's "Dancing Queen."
?A way for the announcer to actually pronounce a created players name...so we don't have to go by some lame nickname like "Tiger" or "The Assassin." - I'm sure it can be done...but it could suck...who knows.
?A way to add your own face to a created boxer...sort of like that "pick a new hair style" software that they have out there.

I wouldn't retire him immediately, because it really is the case that once you get comfortable with the controls, it gets a lot simpler. Try to use the first round to sorta feel out your opponent, and how they like to fight, and adjust your style accordingly. I.E., if they are a good counter puncher, you should wait and counter them. BTW, those are some good ideas. The ring girls are repetitive; as for your own music, if you're playing on 360, you can already do this. As for Xbox, I don't know if you can (I'm on 360).

It's a great game but career mode is a bit easy if you are a Fight Night vet. I'm 64-0 in career mode on hard. I'm waiting until 70-0 before I retire him.

Wow...I'm still playing on easy, but of course I have never played until a few days ago. Career mode is great...I LOVE the "create a champ" feature now...I know Madden and other games have had this feature for years, but EA Sports has really come a long way with it.

FN3 is a lot of fun in 2 player mode...
