Hey i have a ASUS a8n-E Mother board with on board 5.1 channel surround sound. And i have it all hooked up correctly i think. but just the Power Speaker, (front right) speaker dosent work.it has power to it, i can turn the speakers off and on and turn up volume, but the speaker dosent acually give off any sound. But all the other speakers and Sub are giving off awesome sound. i dont know why. Any help please would be appreciated.
Thx
Mark

well did you concider that the speaker is probably broke?
if every other channel is working perfectly and the speaker in question has power then its most likely bust, try it out on a DVD player or anything else you have that has 5.1 channel sound if theres still no sound, swap the set out
Studio Comp: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ OC ~ 2.35GHz runs at 40 celcius idle and 48 under stress (aerocool GT1000 really works!), Asrock K7VT4A , 1024MB Dual Channel DDR 400, MSI Nvidia FX5200 128MB OC ~ 600MHz mem 350MHz core,80GB SATA + 200GB SATA + 120GB IDE, 7.1 Channel Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum EX sound and midi interface. 19" Sony SDM-HS95 TFT monitor - sweeet
Comp2: AMD Sempron 2400+ OC ~ 2.0GHz (Stable), Asrock K7S41GX, 512MB DDR 333, Onboard Graphics, 40GB Maxtor IDE
set of monitors on the way soon :P

have you tried it on anything other than your pc? it could be a problem with the sound card, i have a motherboard with 5.1 channel built in and unless you wire up the front audio ports only the left channel works on audio out... that motherboard is a bit broke- maybe this is the problem your having

I'm having the exact same issue with my X-530's.
First, they sound AWESOME, except for the "hole" where the right front channel should be. I thought it was just me. I have an Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe board and thought I just screwed something up. So I pluged the connectors into my iRiver mp3 player. Black and orange sound great, but when I got tot he green (which is the front right/left), all I heard was left. I even cranked up the sound and covered the left to see if there was ANYTHING coming out of the right....it was totally silent.
What is odd is it is the only speaker that has the "serial" connector going into the back of the subwoofer, wondering if that has anything to do with it - I doubt it, but.... The volume button works on it, and obviously it is powered, so I'm guessing that the wire inside is not physically connected to the speakers.
I'm thinking about opening it up and checking.
I went to logitech's site and the first thing they say is "you may think something is broken, but it may not be...do this, and this, etc..."...Basically they tell you to do what I did - plug them into somehting else. I also tested it on my other pc, which only supports 5 channel (4 speakers), but it had no right front channel either.
So that is 3 devices that are not playing thru the speaker, so it HAS to be the speaker itself.
Just sucks that I have to make a freaking long distance phone call to them, which I no doubt will be put on hold...racking up the cost of the call....to fix THEIR broken product.
I find it very interesting that others are experiencing this very same issue.
I just sent them an email to see if there was anything I was missing.

ok i found my problem out. I brougt it in ( well i just got a sound vlaster X-FI but this is before i got it) and it was a little connection on my mobo. Then it worked. heh weird i know, but it was a 2 second fix haha. hope this helps bud. AWESOME SPEAKERS WITH THE X-FI I TOTALLY RECOMMEND getting the Sound blaster X-FI so much better than on booard.

What "little connection on your mobo"?
I know that I had NO sound when I connected my front panel audio connectors, so I pulled that front panel connectors and replaced the 2 jumpers that came with the mobo.
But keep in mind that I don't think this issue is mobo related - the speakers do the exact same thing no matter what they are plugged into.
My speakers, when at a moderate level, seem to be playing.....but when I put my hear next to the right front, there is no sound.
Doesn't matter if I've plugged it into my pc or into my mp3 player. So I think the right front speaker on the X-530's have issues - probably something in their manufacturing process for a given time period.
I just wish that Logitech would step up and admit they had/have an issue and resolve it.

hmmmm....I suppose that is one of the issues when buying from newegg.com....can't just jump in the car and head to the store for a swap.
So you got a new speaker, and it had the same issue. Then you flipped something in your mobo and it fixed it?
Do you know specifically what you (or the dealer) did?

Thanks in advance for asking/posting what he did - I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. So far logitech has not gotten back with me and I just went beyond their "24-48 hour reply" window.

Thanks it worked, i guess i should have played with a little more and i might have found out myself. But i still find myself thinkin the front 2 channels have better SQ, maybe thats because my music isnt surround sound. oh well, i have surround sound for UT 04 not for music

remember there is a Entertainment mode ( for music) and a Game mode( for Games) at least i have this. Also i have a "24 bit cristalizer" which makes for better sounding high dynamic sounds. if you have this turn it up to full :)!
