I liked the idea of putting my CDs on a hard drive and playing them from there, so the Yamaha CDR-HD1500 appeared to be just the device I was looking for, but it's no longer available. Yamaha had another similar product, MusicCast, and McIntosh offers the MS300, but both are music servers which I don't need and don't want to pay for.

Questions:
1. Is anyone aware of a product similar to the Yamaha CDR-HD1500 that's on the market?
2. I suppose one can get a small PC (with a large HD) to perform the functions of the Yamaha. If others have done this, can anyone point me to a place where I can get some instructions on how it was done?

Thanks
EdP
