I downloaed it Via BitCommet and I did find the actual save file and not the torrent file. But when I was going to burn I realized there were 6 winrar archives named ARMAX-EVO.part1 thru ARMAX-EVO.part6 with a ARMAX-EVO MSinfo and ARMAX-EVO.sfv

Each archive is the same size file 4,883kb but one is 4,539

I don't know what to burn or how to extract and burn... anyone got any ideas that would help me burn. I'd rather not waste a bunch of CD's on trial and error or due to something simple I don't know.

Thanks in advance for the help. Much appreciated!

Once extracted burn your image using Nero, or alcohol 120% or any similar burning program.

That is assuming you have a MOD in your ps2.
(Mod-chip or swapmagic disks with a tool).
If you dont you wont get it to work.

http://www.swapmagic3.com

PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.
So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.

so I extract all the files and burn them ALL to the disk?

I just need to clirify, theres no putting them in a new folder or moving them to a certain folder and burning to folder... I just extract here to all the files, open nero and choose all of them and burn?

EDIT> I made a copy of the folder to test and upon extracting the files it seems each folder has the same things... whats going on? it asked if I wanted to replace every file cause EVERY file was the same name and size... the only difference is one of them is slightly smaller than the other...

So do I just extract one of them and then delete all the rar files then burn? or do I keep everything there and burn after 1 is extracted? and if I have to delete... do I delete or keep the MSinfo and SFV files?

Sorry for my being dumb to this... I've never attempted anything like this b4.

PS> I do not have a mod chip... just AR2 and a slide card.

EDIT 2> After opening Nero StartSmart I wasn't sure which to use to burn... Do I make a Data Disk? Cause I extracted the files and thought I should use "Burn image to Disk" but it only lets u select a single file... EXACTLY how do you go about the burn process... Again I'm sorry for being such a newb at this.

The files should be extracted to form ONE IMAGE file,
out of ALL the split files.
If the are loose files you will have to find the EXACT order,
and use Isobuster to re-build back to an .iso image you
can burn.

If the file is an image use NERO or IMGBURN or whatever burning program you use.
If the zipped files arent in an image format,
you have to create one with ALL the files in the CORRECT order.

I used Nero and burned it off twice... once using Nero normally and another using StartSmart burn image-file... both failed. My ps2 begins to load but the screen never leaves the "Start game with no codes. Insert disc and press X to start or press O to go back" and the ps2 makes some really odd noises...

I downloaded another version from BitComet but this one has 2 files... a .Bin image file and a .CUE File for Image
What are those?

Works exactly the same way. Take a look at this thread here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/303681

I can download and burn games that work but Action Replay Max Evo edition refuses to work.

I only have a CD burner at the moment so games are VERY limited till I get a cheap DVD-R

That tutorial was very nicely done but I don't think it would apply to me... burning to RAR ISO didn't work at all... the Bin and CUE almost worked... it loaded out of AR2 but stayed at a black screen... On all the torrent sites it never lists the console of Action Replay so I might not even have the PS2 one...

Cheap CDs. And also the laser issue ;) Try cleaning your laser if you buy
better CDs and they don't work either. Try some Verbatim CDs.

1st off... I did that tutorial to see if it would help my load times and OMFG WOW Dude that guide/walkthrough/self-help/tutorial kicked major ass... My games don't even go to the browser option screen now... it loads like a brand new, off the shelf, PS2 again. THANKS!!!

I use Sony CD-R's by the way. They work quite well. I'm still having some troubles with the games tho... I can't seen to get AR Max Evo to work at all and my fist game download, Capcom Classics load but freezes when loading the individual games from the menu. I've backed up my old Tribes Aerial Assult game with CD clone if I remember correctly and that game works flawlessly so I'm guessing I'm goofing the burn process... and I use a low burn speed using Nero. I've tried burning the ISO file AND the CUE file and neither seemed to work...

1 thing tho... the ISO file was also a WinRAR archive I think... it had the WinRAR icon but it was listed as an ISO... was I supposed to extract and then turn to an ISO with ISO Buster? Although that same Icon later became an ISO Buster icon once I installed that program. I thought it wasn't necessary after to extract and then turn back into an ISO. If anyone see's something I'm doing wrong please point it out. If theres any other options I could try please tell.

Thanks for the help till now. It's been great and the PS2 fix thing was amazing!

Thanks :) A lot of excellent feedback for that guide!
If the extension is ISO then it doesen't need touched, you don't have to extract the ISO.

If some of your CD games won't work, then I don't know what to suggest.. other than the PS2 has some major difficulty with those CD games, really hates them.

Ah wait, you could put them on DVD, take a look here - http://home.versatel.nl/joeriroels/Download/DVD_games%20DVDRIPS%2...

The .iso format is an image file.
Dont extract it leave it in .iso form,
And use Nero or a similar burning program (alcohol 120%,Imgburn)
to burn the image file to disk.

Also as Mike said you can Change the cd-checks to dvd-checks and burn them
to dvd-media but it is HARDER than it looks.

Glad you got it working.

AR Max Evo refuses to work... the SNES Emu refuses to work... my tribes backup which I backed up from an actual tribes game works... Capcom classics loads, lets me watch the DVD trailer but games will go to a loading screen and then freeze... and I downloaded Gundam Seed Battle Assult 3 and that only had a bin file so I couldn't figure a way to burn it... mybe Magic ISO can do it. I also downloaded Capcom vs SNK which was a MDF file and used MagicISO to convert and burn which did not work...

I'm giving up and getting a modchip and DVD burner.

Thanks for the help guys! It's been really helpful. I also hope anyone else that read this looking for answers got what they needed. You've been really helpful.

Special thanks to Mike for making my PS2 work like it just came off the shelf!!!

SO i was wondering, i already transformed some ps2 cd games to ps2 dvd games, should i try this with the AR that i have? I've dl it using emule, and i got a rar with three files, a BIN, a CUE and a BWT file, should i try the dvd burning thing?
Thanx!

If it won't work on a CD, then yes, try putting it on a DVD.

Just exactly what you said. Dummy files. They don't get used and are useless.. well not entirely. The PS2 laser is a sensitive thing, and it prefers DVDs to CDs. Dummy files take up room on the CD/DVD and for some reason the laser prefers this. The dummy file could be absolutely anything (but it/they must fit on the disc..obviously)
