copies burned on my old computer turn out fine but i'm new computer they stop & pause ..i have the memorex dual layer burner installed on both computers so what could be the problem ?

If memorex burners are as inconsistant as memorex media then there is the answer. Can't say from experience because I've never had a memorex burner and never will. No offence intended. Burners are cheap, check the forums and try another.

Do you have dma enabled on both compters . Sounds like you might have pio enabled on one of them . To check ; right click my computer, hardware, device manager, ide, secondary (opticals usually), advanced settings and make sure dma is enabled not pio. This might help you movies27. I am like johnnyd54 my pc's have nec/maddog or sony/liteon burners .

If pio was enabled the the burn on that computer would be alot slower but not worse I think.

what type of media are you using? poor media leads to problems when discs pause or skip the cause is poor quality media i do not think the problem is your drive memorex do not make there own drives

its not the media i only use maxell dvd's ..the dma is enabled ..i'm going to staples & get me a sony burner i guess then...i've never had a problem with a memorex burner up until now...go figure...

crap you guys were right it was that memorex burner..i bought a sony..the movie burned & played fine this time....i have a memorex buner on my old computer..do you all think i should get rid of it & get a sony for it too or leave well enough alone???

Now after that experience what do you think. Memosuxs or no Memosucks, that is the question. I think we all know the answer.

I've owned nothing but Sony DVD burners, a 510A and a DRU-800, been v ery happy with both. Keep the Sony.
