hi,
im currently using a sony memory stick pro duo am am encountering some problem with it. when i try to load files onto it it says cyclic redundancy check or i/o device error. after this, i cant load files onto the stick anymore. everytime i try, the same msg appears exactly at the same place. i have had 2 memory sticks and both are facing the same problem. what have i done wrong??
how can this problem be fixed?
p/s: may this be caused because i used windows to format the memory stick?
plz plz help, thanks

well it sounds as though you tried everything i would think of apart from this
1. try a diff USB cable (i know, i know but try it)
2. try your card in another psp if you know someone who has it
3. try this http://www.sonydigital-link.com/memstick/downloads/downloads_ms.a...
im not 100% sure this will help but im guessing you will tyr anything by now
info for the future
buy sandisk, there faster, cheaper and have better product support

Let me ask you a question. Did you buy the memory stick from Ebay? I bought a 1 gig from Ebay and I question the authenticity, so maybe the problem you have is that your stick is fake. If it's not, I think it should be under warranty.

HI mate but i would advise you to get your money back because it is fake and they will not last long. any sony 2gb for under £100 is a total fake if your packet come with 6 dotted on the side packet then it is fake well have a look at this forum and you will know if its fake or not http://www.vrforums.com/showthread.php?t=53801 hope this help and i really advise you to have your money back rather then getting it changed

reply: better to buy a sandisk you are more likey to come across a proper one with the sony ones i recommend the high street retailers because alot of them are fakes from china. i brought mine off ebay and they broke apart after a few in and out of my psp :-(

You shouldnt have to use windows to format the card, just insert into the psp, and format it there.

I just bought a "Sandisk" 4GB (blue not red) memory card from ebay. I've been having the same problem. I can "dump" two games onto it, however when i try to copy files from the PC to the PSP (using the PSP to transfer files) it doesn't work and i get that stupid Cyclic Redundancy Check error. Right now i'm using the Error Checking feature under propties of the Removable drive on the computer see if this helps or not, i'll get back to you guys if it does.
