Grandia III...Help :(

I'll cut right to the chase. I spent about a week "acquiring" Grandia III off bittorent, extracted the two ISOs without a hitch, and burned it like I do every other game. 4x on my 8x Fujifilm DVD-Rs (which are genuine Taiyo Yudens) with DVD Decrypter. I load up CogSwap Loader via the memory card exploit, put in my genuine PS2 DVD, press X, swap DVDs with my burned Grandia III DISC 1 DVD, press X again, and the CD starts spinning. This method has worked flawlessly for every game I've ever backed up.

Except this one.

Like I said, the DVD starts spinning, screen flashes a bit like usual...but after that, it doesn't do anything. It just sits there with a black screen. I left it for 10 minutes, and it still didn't start up. Nothing but black. So, I try loading it up again. Same thing.

So I try everything I can. Different media, different burning speeds, different burning programs (I must of wasted like 6 DVDs), and they all gave me the exact same result. DVD starts spinning, screen flashes a bit, stops flashing, black screen, bitter disappointment.

I tried rebuilding it with ISO Buster and Apache2 and what not, but Apache2 just crashes at 97% of building the ISO and sits there. Trust me, I let it sit there at 97% for about 6 hours.

Anyone know what I need to do to get this game running? Its the genuine Echelon version, by the way.

yo, i have the same problem after obtaining the 'echelon' version. i have an internal mod-chip. the game doesn't seem to load; i get the "Playstation 2" screen but that's about it. ... whereas my other 'back-up' games load properly.

it sounds like to me the tol cos g3 is boarder line on 4.37 gigs so you need you ps2 to be same or bigger size he your back up for it to work

what orginal game are you using

The good thing about the 'internal' mod-chip is that you don't have to use an original disk first then swap...(it's not like swap magic). So basically, after the mod-chip is installed, you just load your original or backup discs and the game works (no 'swapping' involved). I obtained the 'echelon' NTSC version of 2 DVDs (DiscA = 4.10 GB and DiscB = 3.98 GB). I burned the images using Alcohol120% and NexxTech 8x DVD+R at 2X burn speed. This media worked fine for other games, and after reading many other posts regarding this game, i'm thinking it's something to do with the game itself... or the images. I'm looking for someone who got the 'backup' NTSC version of Grandia 3 to work properly. ...what they 'obtained', what media they used, etc.

I have tried everything to get this game to work, and have had no luck.
I am using swap magic 3.6, with a slim ps2.
I am making backups of the original disc.
I use TY media.
The second disc works fine when I try it, but not the first.
I have tried rebuilding it but get the same problem, just a blank screen that flashes once in a while.
Has anyone gotten it to work?
