whats up everyone. heres the problem. i have a nec nd-1300a burner. ive used it for quite a few years now with no problems. all of the sudden, it wont record to dvd-r anymore. this started yesterday. it works fine with cd-r and dvd+r, but not with -r. i was using sony dvd-r when it happened. also tried with tdk dvd-r...nothing. ive used both brands tons of times in the past with no problems. i cant seem to get nero, cloneDVD2, or alcohol120 to work with dvd-r. i upgraded the firmware to 1.0c, which i think is the latest, and i also uninstalled and then reinstalled the drive. same results. i havent done anything different to make it stop working with dvd-r media. like i said...it was always fine, and now it wont work. any ideas/suggestions? thanks.
thank you so much for that. glad you were able to answer all my questions and provided such great info that will help me solve this issue! i see your stats is afterdawn addict! you must make a lot of great posts like that one!
hey fastfrank. yep..i actually ordered that model from newegg last night. looking forward to getting it this week. hopefully..itll do the trick. im convinced its a problem with my burner, and not Nero, clonedvd2, and alcohol120. ive tried everything.. cleaning up my hdd, installing Nero 6.6.0.18 (seems to be a highly recommended version), using different media, upgrading the firmware, etc. i think its just had it. its been a great drive for the last 4 or 5 years..so getting the same brand, but a newer and better model for a mere $40 isnt the end of the world. later.
