i havent played on doa 4 for a couple of weeks and today i played on it and it came up with a update.
so wots the update done? has it fixed the lagging? or sumthing

There's no word yet what new it brings. At least all leaderboards were reset. But I think that it might have been a fix for the save game issue, and maybe for the lagging too.

SWEET, something downloaded when i went on perfect dark zero, i didn play doa4 in a while, is it possible i downloaded it playing pdz instead?

No. There was a xbox live update day earlier too, maybe it was that. Or a pdz update.
