@uk gamer - if you have nothing helpful to say then do not post garbage like that - read the forum rules!

icet you can find ps2 games with peer to peer software like limewire.as i am sure you are aware you can only make back up copies of discs that you own, thus not theft :-)

what is with all the ethical BS?? everyone who is in this section of the forums is backing up disks, your a lier if you say otherwise, and your also lying if you say you ONLY backup games you own an original of. if you wanna preach to someone, goto church on Sunday and take a turn at the Pulpit......

torrents are the only reliable way to download anything other them MP3s as well as the most practical due to speed and accuracy. most of what you get from a P2P client is falsely labeled and you never know what your getting till you've wasted a few days downloading it.

ethical or not, it's the rules of this site. we do not condone piracy, nor will we ever. if someone is open about pirating stuff they will be kicked out. however, if someone needs help backup up something, we have no way of knowing if they own it or not so we can only assume they do. now if someone walks in and says "i rented a game from blockbuster, how do i copy it" then they wont find any help here, and if they do then both parties will be removed. we all know what goes on, but how it's worded is a very touchy issue since aD is constantly watched by the man.

That post says that if you buy games and download them then your not breaking the law and ruining the games industry, but if you just download them and your also copy them then that is wrong as I'd hate if someone copied a game that took me half a year to make and not get paid.

i believe that post was more so directed to the point that if you own a legal original copy of a game disk that you can then and only then copy that disk for backup reasons. 'The Man' on the other hand thinks even this is unethical and that if you paid for a disk and then it got damaged you should then go out and purchase another one so the he can then continue to make revenue from the sale of such disks. ah but the fact of the matter is that 'The Man' doesn't support these demands and as soon as newer technology arises they quickly drop production of what they call 'out dated media'.

you are then left in a catch 22, you can stay true to these implemented restrictions on backing up games and never be able to play them again once outdated and damaged or you can pop a chip in your console and make a backup copy so you'll always have access to the game to play when ever you so choose. money pockets sony/nintendo/microsoft/etc.. would much rather you go drop a few hundred more here and there to get their newest system and newest games and just let the past be in the past......i don't concur with them on that.
