but my xbox 360 is right next to my computer and i want to connect to the internet through my pc.

i understand me pc has to be on to do this and i dont mind.

but how do i configure my pc to do this? my pc is using the wireless adaptor. the pc detects the ethernet cable but says no connectivity?

how do i configure it?

thanks alot for any help,

You just can't plug your xbox 360 into your computers NIC and expect it to recieve a connection. That computer is recieving a connection wirelessly(probably through a USB adapter) to connect to a wireless router to access the internet. The network card on your computer is designed to recieve a connection, not transfer out a connection.

it is possible to get internet connection on my xbox 360 via my pc but i just dont know how to set it up.

once i connect my ethernet from my pc to xbox it detects it but doesn't connect. because i dont know how to configure it.

in the xbox manual it also shows a diagram, but says ' refer to isp ' which i cant do , becoz i am not account holder etc.

my pc has a modem built in and also a high speed PCI interface which has a ethernet port on it.

here's wot i want:

telephone line >>>>> router>>>>> pc (via wireless usb) >>>>pc to xbox (via ethernet)

i tried this but my wires are all over the place: so i prefer the first one above

telephone line >>>> router
!
!
!---->>> PC (wireless)
!
!---->>> Xbox 360 (ethernet cable )

AS U CAN SEE i am desperate!!!

so can anyone help?

Get an wireless adapter to your xbox, it's way easier than playing with connection sharing. But if you must do it, then try to share your wireless connection from windows.

i dont mind getting a wireless adaptor but they are very expensive. here in the uk £50 at least which is seriously not worth it.

try the easy way, just get 1 ethernet cable, plug one end into your router and the other into your 360, and hey presto! you can connect.

far simpler and better connection, as wired ones dont have as much trafficing/disturbance like wireless ones do.

Don't judge the consoles by specs, more isnt always better, espec in PS3 specs.i know the truth, ask if u wanna know.......

Do not compete without valid correct technicality on your terms of the argument.

yes i am connected directly to my router via a ethernet cable.

but the problem is my router is not in my room therefore the cable has to be on the floor. as my xbox is right next to my pc, it would be better as the wires will be hidden behind the desk and i wont have to disconnect the wire each time!
