I have spent the last 3 or 4 days trying to find a good (easy to understand) guide or tutorial on adding menus to a dvd, and the information that is out there is overwhelming me.
I have some backed up copies of cartoons for the kids (dora the explorer) and have successfully combined 2 dvd's to 1 (8 episodes to the back-up instead of the usual 4). I would like to add a menu to future dics that I make for easy navigation through the dvd. I know people have posted this question before, but I am hoping somebody out there has done this themself and could help me out. Help in the form of what progs were used and if a guide was followed to get the job done, etc.
I would also like to use this for adding a menu to a back-up, when I want to keep more than just the main movie, and some but not all of the extras.
thanks for any help.

You are correct--It will not let you add your menu only the menu that comes with the movie or extras

Well csm73 I do not pretend to be an expert at anything nor do i have a vast knowledge in this fields in fact I just barely started doing this not long ago but, so maybe the info im about to give you is old news to you, so Im sorry if it is but there is a program I use and it is: TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6

I found it was very easy to use, once you open it it'll ask you if you want to create a new one or open an ongoing project, it'll ask you where the video files are, you direct your mouse to where ever the VIDEO_TS folder is for your movie and then you can add all the files in that folder and then after adding those you want add more, depending on the size of them, or as many as you can fit and then at the end as it takes you step by step it'll ask you to format your menu and then you make the output and then it asks you to put a blank disk and that should be it.

I'm sorry im very vague about my instructions but unless you download the program and try it you'll never know how easy it is. Make sure that before you burn the final product that you notice somewhere there is an option to start the dvd directly to the movie or to the menu, make sure you select the menu this option is in form of a drop down menu, that was a small mistake i had to learn on my own by trial and error.

Anyway tell me how you go and if you have any more questions if i can help you let me know and i will try to asnwer them.
