Playstation2 won't read swap magic discs

I keep getting "disc read errors" when I put in my swap magic disc. I'm on a version 7 PS2.

here is another guide for fixing DRE problems
If you can not correct it by cleaning and adjusting the laser then it may be time to have it replaced.

Yeah if won't read originals, your laser may be gone. Take it to a pro and see what they say. Hey might as well get a modchip to go with that new laser. :) A new laser will set you back around $50. For info on modchips, check the Modchip FAQ link in my sig.
