Nokia 6102 GSM Band Selection

Does anybody know if there is anyway to manually select which gsm band the nokia 6102 uses?
I purchased this phone from the USA, unlocked, however it doesn't recognise my Australian carrier. It is a tri-band phone (including 1800/1900), and it's running on GSM 1900, but I need 1800. There doesn't seem to be any options in the menu for changing this. Is there a code i can type in, or can i get it fixed at a shop??
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
