Hey, this .cdi format is new to me and im in need of some help! i downloaded marvel vs capcom 2 which was in rar format, so i used winrar to decompress it and the file became a .cdi file. do i burn this straight to cd or dvd? and what programme would be the best? also, will i need to use a bootdisk/mod chip to run the game? help would be much appreciated. cheers

Don't know too much about cdi files, but you can convert it to an iso with CDIrip or you can use the burning program, CDI Burner. Both can be found here: http://www.megagames.com/dc/dc_utils_disk.shtml

Also, I'm sure that you will need to use a bootdisk/mod chip to run it since it is a burnt disc and not pressed.

Good luck with the file!

You'll want to burn it to a CD, and use good media, like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony or Phillips.

It is. I was hoping that jdub knew that and just decided to post it here for the help. Here's the process for backing up Dreamcast games: http://dreamlover.tecbox.com/

@jdub: If you wanted this file for PS2, it won't work.

Yeah, I got that same file, why would it be labeled like that? You sure it can't be a PS2 game?
