Right first things first I'v owned a PS2 for about 2 years and know the ins and out on this console. Ne wayz recently one of my m8's gave me an xbox as they can't get it to work, heres the trouble;

When I put in an xbox game it won't come up with anything (even the dreaded dirty disc, as this is what I hoped for as I know how to fix that), any wayz to make matters worse the front light is a solid green color which I am under the influence that this color determines what kind of error you are dealing with and if this helps it does autoload music CD's but games are a big 'no no'.

Not sure on how to check the version number if this is required

Any ones vast xbox knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

you just need to repla`ce your dvd drive.. they are pretty cheap.. ot the laser.. whatever you are more comfortable doing.

Ps how do you change the laser and how much will that set you back.

lazers arnt too hard you just have to open the drive on ebay you can get them for like $15

Sorry just one more question, if I get a DVD drive of ebay thats compatable with my xbox won't I need to flash it with the right firmware and if so would this require me to put it in my PC first to flash it or can the firmware be put onto a CD and then played in the xbox,
