ok im brand new here, but i really need help. i have been working all week on trying to figure this out.
within the last month all of a sudden my bittornado just started freezing randomly through torrent downloads. I figured it was a virus, so i formatted thinking that would fix my problem. Well it didn't, even after my clean format this weekend my bittornado keeps freezing on me.
could this maybe be a hardware problem? also, i bought a new ethernet card last week thinking that would fix it. It didn't either.
Then my friend said that maybe i could have corrupt ram which is causing memory crashes, but thats weird cause the only thing is bittorando thats freezing, nothing else.
i tried ABC and azerus but i just couldn't figure them out, ABC was Dling at like 1kb if that.
i REALLY need to fix this problem, its starting to really bug me.
So if anyone can help me i would really appreciate the input.

i have a router yes, and i have opened all the ports that i need to,plus some.
i tried using ports 50000 - 53000, but it still freezes.
I dont have a virus program running right now either, and i turned of the microsoft firewall just to see if that made a difference, and it didn't.
So im still stuck, any other help?

go to C:/Documents and Settings/"your xp name here"/Application Data/.BitTornado

delete everything in sight except the config.gui.inf file (your settings),move that somewhere else while you clear the folder, then put it back

if this dont work do the same again, but delete everything

also you say you have a router??? have you got a NETGEAR card?,if so this may be your problem

and finally if you are running sp2 and are using too many connections that can cause freezing, read up on this for more info

so i downloaded Utorrent and it seems to be working for me, which is cool.
But i still wanna know why bittorando started freezing like that, even after my fresh format this weekend.
Could it actually have something to do with my RAM?
