Hello Guys,

I got this last night from a P2P. Need help. AVG cannot delete and ZA does not have an option either. I downloaded DOD 32 and did not help either. I ran Ewido, AdAware and Ccleaner with to luck either.

The trojan appears to be in your system volume information, which is notorious for hiding trojans and screwing you over when you try to get rid of it, as this is the case.
The only way to get rid of it is to disable your system restore, but that will mean that you will not be able to system restore your comp to previous points past this disable, so you might want to system restore to a previous point first and then disable it. You can disable system restore by going to:

Start > right click on My Computer > Properties > System Restore tab.

Quarentine was not an option. I tried restoring but could not. Even went back to March 1, 2006 and the system could not restore. Let's pretend I am able to restore after several attempts. What do I do next?

On a different not I just find hard to believe that after having AVG, ZA, Ewido, Ccleaner and Spywareblaster I still got infected. How much is enough protection?

Sorry, I am just frustrated. I am running Stop-Sign Scanner now so we'll see.

Any ideas Senior Members?

If you were able to system restore, I would suggest doing the whole scan with virus scan and spyware scan - otherwise you'll most likely have to just disable system restore and hope that works.

I must have run about 4 on line scanners (including Panda, Mccaffe, bitdefender) and I do not see any signs of the trojan anymore. I think I got rid of it. Don't ask me how. ;=)

Update Ewido, but do NOT run a scan yet.

Disable system restore, instructions here -> http://service1.symantec.com/support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/20011119...

Cleaning instructions:

Move HijackThis.exe to its own folder (C:\HJT).

Go to Control Panel -> Add or remove programs -> Remove SpyFighter (if found)

Run HijackThis and fix these entries (if found): (Do a system scan only, check entries, close all other windows, press Fix checked)
(Have you set this to your homepage http://store.gamehouse.com ? if you have, don't fix the first entry on my list)

Did you ran AVG and Ewido? Please post a log from Ewido.
Does AVG still find that trojan?

Your log is now clean, BUT you didn't move HijackThis to its own folder (C:\HJT).

But do this:

Download Intermute CWShredder to your desktop -> http://cwshredder.net/bin/CWShredder.exe Do not run yet.
