Hy! I would be really happy if someone could help me. I always had problems downloading with bittorrent. It is awfully slow for some reason. Now i started using azureus. I have no firewall or virus protection. so nothing can slow it down. It shows green face for everything, so everything seems to be ok. But still it doesnt download faster than 5 kb\s. Why is that? Pls help me !

Well firstly your speeds depend on how many seeds (people with the entire file) and how many peers (people who are still downloading the file).
As you can see in the picture below there are a total of 3 seeds and 4 peers. Im only connected to 1 seed and 2 peers therefore my speeds are going to be very poor. However if your connected to lets say 100 seeds and 200 peers you should experience high download speeds.

Secondly your speed also depends on your upload speed. You should try and set it to about 80% of your download speed. To determine what you should set your upload at go here http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/Good_settings

Finally you must make sure you port forward your firewall and router to allow your bittorrent client access to that port therefore allowing you better download speeds.

Hope it helps

Does your ISP throttle P2P?
