I have burned many DVDs and they all play in my vehicle. Some reason madagascar will not play. I use DVD 43(version for music and DVD) DVD shrink version 3.2 and nero 6 ultra edition with update. Media used is DVD-R, memorex 8X and both laptop and dekstop will not burn successfull. First problem I have had burning DVD and playing in car.

Any suggestions??

Forgot to mention, burned copies of madagascar play fine on home dvd players. Just not in vehicle.

It could be a couple of things.

1. Memorex are know to be bad media and have a lot of issues with stand alones.

2. Your dvd player in your vehicle doesn't like DVD-R. You may need to use DVD+R. There is a difference and a lot of dvd players will only play one or the other. The optimal thing is to booktype DVD+R to DVD-ROM and it should play in almost all dvd players.

chi6488 ,try better media (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim) burn at 4x with better software (clonedvd 2 with AnyDVD would be my choice) and your should be fine with the DVD dash format most newer DVD players handle both formats (beltline).but if you do use the DVD plus format booktype to DVD-ROM as said

@aabbccdd - my next door neighbor got a dvd player for Christmas. It wouldn't play my TY DVD-R's. So he went and bought a Samsung on sale. It wouldn't play my TY DVD-R's. The second I put the movie on a +R he said it played perfectly on both dvd players. That's the main reason I started using +R and later to booktyping.

I agree. If your going to burn a movie use good media. Also are the other movies on dvd-r's that play in your vehicle? If so then just by better media. MEMOREX BLOWS

After re-reading what you originally wrote. I'm going to stick with

This is assuming you have always used DVD-R's and they have always played in your vehicle? Memorex is a hit and miss media. Mostly miss. No matter what, whichever format you use, I would strongly urge against memorex. It may work today, but a year from now most likely not.
