I hate itunes. It has erased my entire ipod once already because i left auto sync on when my comp crashed... now it crashed again cause my dumbazz sister dloaded a virus.. anyways... IS there ANY way you could turn this crap auto syncing junk off without having to hook up your ipod? i find it STUPID you have to hook it up and race against the program to turn off auto syncing before it wipes out ur ipod. a pal of mine says you can install itunes to a new comp and hook it up for the first time, and it will ask you if you want to run your ipod or something like that on the new comp.. and you can select no. is this true?? if so id appreciate a conformation. if i wipe out my 8 days of music again i will smash this piece of junk and go postal on the guy who designed i tunes. Thank You :)

You have no songs in iTunes and the only place you have a copy of your songs is on your iPod, correct? Ok, here's what you do..

a) Connect the iPod to the computer

b) Immediately press and hold the Shift + Alt + Ctrl keys

c) Hold these keys for about 3 seconds after the iPod appears in the 'source' list before releasing.

d) Now you can manually disable auto-sync without the worry of your songs being deleted in the process..

See, easy ;-)
