Go onto your 360, and in the dashboard, select media center. This will bring up a screen with a code, and it says that you will need thhis for the installation of the media center software.

When you install the actual media center software for the 360 it will ask you for it.

the only thing you can do is listen to music, look at pictures from your pc hdd and thats about it, unless i missing something out, but for sure you cant transfer any of that media to the xbox 360...well..not yet ;p, but thats all the info i know so far. Anyways are you okay on how to connect the pc to the xbox 360 and have them both configured so the xbox can do things with the pc?

you only used that code for the pc that has a Microsoft Windows Media Center...not XP pro or home....XP pro or home dont need that number, therefore it'll just connect as long as you have the software in your pc to connect to the xbox 360

You can stream music and pictures from your PC to your xbox even if it is not a MCE. You only need MCE if you want to stream video.
