M3 Perfect + PassKey2 HELP

Hello, I've recently been reading about the different methods of playing backups on NDS. I think I've decided on getting an M3+PassKey2, but I have a few questions. I'm slightly confused about the way PassKey2 needs to be set up.


I see that the PassKey2 needs to be set-up (change the boot code) in order to boot an NDS rom. My question is: Does the boot code only need to be set up once? For instance, lets say I will use Mario Kart DS as my actual boot up cartridge. Does the boot code need to match the game in the cartridge? Also, in order to play different roms from the SD card, does one need to change the boot code every time a different game will be played?
