Using Windows Media Player in XP to burn audio tracks to CD results in perfect copies that can be played on the computer but not on my home stereo.

I am using CD-Rs not CD-RWs and Media Player says it automatically converts the audio file to the correct format, so I can't understand what's going wrong.

If anyone has any ideas that'd be great, thanks.

HEY EeP.....sometimes when u burn the cd's with a greater speed like 40X then some of the CD player dont play the cd but if u try to look in the manual of instruction of ur cd player if it says anything about the speed of the CD that is to be burnt ...if it does;t say anything then try burning the cd on a lower speed i will recommend a speed of 24X...i dont know if Win MP gives u any option for setting speed but other cd burner softwares do..U can download any good cd burner software from download.com....hope it helps

How old is your CD player? I have access to 7 CD players at work and home burnt CDs won't play on 2 of them even though they are not the oldest. If you have a portable cd player do they work on that. I burn all mine at 40x and in 99% of burns have no problems.

Hmm I have a CD player thats at least 20 years old and it plays CDR's without any problems but refuses to have anything to CD-RW's, unsurprisingly. I've burned them up the max speed allowed by the CD (40x) and had no problems.

I'm not getting older, everyone else it getting younger

As a general advice: I would not recommend burning audio at maximum speeds. Gof for 8x - 16x .

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !
