TMPGEnc sample error when converting xvid

I have 2 xvid files with AC3 audio and when I try to convert them to one mpeg for a DVDin tmpgenc I get a "sample error" after ~5 mins. I don't think it's the audio as I converted that to WAV in Virtualdub and used that as the source in tmpgenc. I amn't sure of the exact error code. The files play fine, so would it be possible to framserve from virtualdub? If so how is this done?
