Hi All,

I'm trying to get Digital 5.1 from my 360. I have purchased the HD Cable which has the Optical out on it but my Home Theatre has Digital Coaxial in. I purchased a Optical to Coaxial Convertor and plugged the Optical lead from the 360 to the IN socket on the Convertor and the Digital Coax lead from OUT socket on the Convertor and then into Digtal in on my Home Theatre. The problem is now, I'm not getting any sound coming out whatsoever and I have set the 360 settings to Digtal 5.1. Doe's anyone have any ideas to what I'm doing wrong??

Is there an option to turn on your coax signal? I know on my reciever I have a button that goes from both coax to optical. Then it might be that the hd cables are really sensitive and cant read the adapter.

When I first switch the 360 on I get sound for about 5 seconds then it just goe's like a untuned radio station

it is doing this because your surround sound system doesn't support 5.1 dolby digital surround sound it cannot support dolby prologic it wont work differrent signal

dts and dolby run at diffrent settings

Hi There,

My Home Theatre System has DTS and 5.1 Digital. I tryed hooking up a seperate DVD player to the Home Theatre which is 5.1 Digital compatible. I ran the Coaxial lead from out of the DVD player and straight into IN on the Home Theatre and could not get 5.1 either but again it stated valid signal. This is very bizarre
