Have you installed that Free MP3 Direct program?


You have removed Norton, you seem to have some components of Norton still running.

Do this to remove the remains of Norton:

Move HijackThis to its own folder C:\HJT

Run HijackThis and fix these entries (if found): (Do a system scan only, check entries, close all other windows, press Fix checked)

O23 - Service: Symantec Event Manager (ccEvtMgr) - Symantec Corporation - c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccEvtMgr.exe

->Copy this: navapsvc and paste it to the field
->Press OK

You haven't installed a firewall, install one now.

Did you do that "Delete NT Service" thing too because fixing is not enough.


Do this again:

Run HijackThis and fix these entries (if found): (Do a system scan only, check entries, close all other windows, press Fix checked)

->Copy this: navapsvc and paste it to the field

Ok, do this:

Open Notepad.

-> Copy the following lines to it

sc stop ccEvtMgr
sc delete ccEvtMgr
sc stop ccPwdSvc
sc delete ccPwdSvc
sc stop navapsvc
sc delete navapsvc

Save the document to the desktop as ServicesRemove.bat and FILE TYPE -> All Files

Then go to the desktop, run ServicesRemove.bat and answer yes to any questions.

Post a new HijackThis log.

Ok good Norton services are gone.

And install that firewall.

Lets remove that Free MP3 Direct (I wouldn't trust on it) and I missed a few Norton entries, sorry =)

i searched for it its gone i deleted it from there .. one more thing in msconfig on startup tab which one should only be checked (i want to free some stuff in right hand corner .......also i use windows firewall . but turn it off some times

OK, if you want , you can Fix these entries with HijackThis to free up some memory:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NBJ] "C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero BackItUp\NBJ.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MsnMsgr] "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\MsnMsgr.Exe" /background
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [PeerGuardian] C:\Program Files\PeerGuardian2\pg2.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Desktop 16.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Desktop 16\TrueWeather.exe

Windows Firewall is not recommended. And you should NEVER take the firewall off. Then your computer is fully open to hacker attacks and other treaths.

These are good (free) firewalls:
ZoneAlarm --> http://www.zonelabs.com
Kerio--> http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm
Outpost-> http://www.agnitum.com

Install one to your computer.

Your log is clean =)

No you don't have to turn it off, because you can set rules for induvidual programs... For example ZoneAlarm has very easy configuration for rules (in my opinion)
(the program is either allowed to connect the internet or not)

If you don't have a firewall, your computer is fully open to hacker attacks and other treaths.

none i just have windows firewall and it askes to block or unblock

Ok but install for example ZoneAlarm, because it is so many times better than the windows firewall. And it is easier to use (imo)

And finfix, it is a Finnish HijackThis School =) but I have an outdated address in my signature... I'll update it

Ok, what was your last firewall? The point is that you are not going to stay clean very long without a firewall, especially if you turn it off.
