In theory I think that I should be able to do it, I am just stuck on how. I have a DirectTV receiver with Tivo which is almost full. I have the ability to record saved programs to VCR but I bought a LVW 5005X with hopes to by pass any MV protection that may pop up. The stand alone Dvd recorder is hooked up directly to the receiver and I have been able to record onto Dvd-RW. I want to take my Dvd-RW, put my recorded programs onto my PC. Remove the commercials, possibly improve some of the quality, see if I can squeeze more than one episode on to a dvd. Is this possible? What kind of software do I need? Do I need to change to format of the recording, and if so change it to what? I have several dvd programs already and I have played with them without luck. I have Dvd decrypter, Dvd shrink, Anydvd, CloneDvd, Nero 6, Dvdfab decrypter. Any suggestions?
What kind of files are on your DVD disc, are they .IFO, and .VOB? If so you can run DVD Decrypter in File Mode right to your HDD, from there run DVD Shrink or VobBlanker to rid it of commercials. And then burn it with Nero's Recode or re-author with DVD Shrink if you want to add more then 1 movie to a DVD disc.
The TV shows are in dvd-vr format. If I use DVD Decrypter to change the recording to iso format then I can use DVD Shrink to remove the commercials and clean it up a little? I will try that and let you know what happens.
My computer really doesn't like this dvd-vr format. Even when I use DVD Decrypter, the format changes to dvd-vr.iso and DVD Shrink nor Nero wants to touch it. Now what?
ive been thinking bout doing the same thing. i have the dvr 100 hr with usb hookups in the front and back. i thought u would be able to run a usb 2.0 from dvr to computer, but wont work. i just bought a plextor convert x (px-m402u). its a device that goes from tv, vhs, or any audio to your pc using s-video or rca and a high speed usb 2.0 to your computer. its great sofar and was cheap 129 dollars. it is DivX certified. it will encode in .AVI with dolby sound. Nero 7 will work with it. it came with win creator2 software to capture and edit the video, but i dont like it much, theres gotta be better software to edit the video. overall the plextor has been good and easy to use.

This dvr 100 is a Archos, correct, if so, then you should be able to connect to a computer depending on the distance from the DVR 100 and your PC, in relation to the cable length you would need.
