With the new Windows Vista operating system and directX 10 enabled graphics cards coming out soon, how is xbox 360 going to compare? Quake 4 came for xbox 360 had an inconsistant frame rate and that game used was created to be played on directX 9. Are computer games just going to blow past consoles again like they did with PS2, xbox, and GameCube.
My money is on DirectX 10
how about yours?

exactly. you need alot of cash to make a ultimate gaming pc.
i'll rather have a average pc, and an xbox 360 rather than spend over £1000 on a pc gaming maachine.
wot do u lot reckon????
obviously dat wont be a problem for people who are stinkin rich?

PC gaming is not that expensive if you build your PC from scrach from old and new parts. You could takw a hard drive that already has Windows installed and keep an existing proccesor and RAM card, and combine it with a new motherboard which would only cost you if your resourcefull less than $100, A new power supply for $10, and a decent graphics card that will not cost you an arm and a leg. Currently that card is the GeForce 6800 series.

You could do that ... but you're PC would be about as ready for gaming a NES console ... maybe you could run the same technology as the commodore 64c! Who would seriously consider using spare, old parts and a cheap-o grafx card for a supposed PC gaming rig????? You could build the cheapest PC possible, but try to play something like Quake 4, Doom 3, etc ... nope, sorry, not gonna happen. You have to spend money for a PC gaming rig - good money at that. If you spend the money on a PC gaming rig, top of the line everything, well, the most important are the Grafx, Ram & chip - everything else can be cheap - then you will most certainly have better grafx than the xBox 360 - only if you put good money into it.

I agree, PC gaming will always be a step ahead of consoles, because a console is designed to work with the exact same technology for a few years. New PC parts arrive constantly and with the posibility to upgrade your machine, if you have the cash, a great gaming PC will always be better than the best console.

The GeForce 6800 series was proclaimed at one point to be the best cards to run doom 3 so it may be a cheap card series today but it still delivers great performce. most Alienware PCs use the 6800s

Riigghhtt ... but a good graphics card, an old CPU, and an old ram "Card" as you put it will get you no where!

what games are you playing on that PC and at what settings? (I agree that 360s potential is incredibly limited and so is PS3s).(nintendo got left in the dust)
