NTSC-J PS2 and Games

Greetings,

I bought myself a modded NTSC-J PS2 while living in China. All of my games are also NTSC-J. However, I now live in Korea. Some of my games work, while others flicker and the color is black and white. Why...why? And more importantly, what can be done to remedy the situation?

Please advise.
