I'm trying to backup a PS2 game, and can't do it, no matter what program I use. The only thing that's different from the other two I just backed up, is that it is blue. I tried using any dvd and four or five back up programs. Any suggestions? To be more specific, the game is "Kao The Kangaroo" it's an Atari game for PS2. I rarely have problems backing up games or movies, I've probably backed up 150 to 200 games and movies, that's why I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
swap magic and one other mod. People never seem to mention that anymore and too many newbies end up getting swap magic and expecting the back ups to work.
search around, it depends on what version (chunky or slim) PS2 you have to tell you what the other different mods you can get.

Yes, I bought a modded console, which works great with 99% of the games I backup, but every once in awhile I run into a game I can't burn. And this one seems to be one of my boys favorites, and it gripes me and perplexes me why I can't. Oh well, at least I burned it to the hard drive in case I come across a solution.
i don't know if im right... but it could be your media.. I tried copying socom 1 on a shit quality DVDR and it would crash at the loading screen, burnt it with a taiyo yuden DVD-R and it worked 100% (was the first game i burned with my taiyo discs because i wanted to see if the media was the problem.. and it was).. If they are DVD+R discs some ps2's have trouble reading those especially with some games.

Nope.All my media is DVD-R and I originally tried to burn it on a Linkyo several times, and then tried it on a couple of Taiyo Yuden which,by the way is the number one media my burner recommends. But no luck in any case.When I try to burn it comes up with "critical error,check error log" I suppose it could be a bad game,and just because I was the first to use it,really doesn't necessarily mean anything.Thanks anyway for your help.
