PS2: slimline /w crystal chip v 1.1

Screen: Toshiba 27AF43 ( canada )

Flat Screen, 27 inch Display, 4:3 Aspect Ratio,
NTSC, 480i (SDTV), Digital 3-Line Comb Filter,
Speaker Power: 2 x 5 Watt

Im trying to run a PAL ps2 backup game on my NTSC TV as described above.

Whenever i run the game under these settings, the follwing happens;

1st Setting:

NTSC software video fixes; OFF

Pal software video fixes: ON
Force video mode: NTSC
Force Color: NTSC
Screen position modifiers: ON
Screen X modifier: -20
Screen Y modifier: -50

Result:

The game loads fine however #A. the TV screen keeps rolling.

2nd Setting:

NTSC software video fixes; OFF

Pal software video fixes: ON
Force video mode: PAL
Force Color: NTSC
Screen position modifiers: ON
Screen X modifier: -20
Screen Y modifier: -50

Results:

When i force PAL video mode the game loads fine without any screen rolling except that the pre-mission and post mission game movie cut-scenes keep crashing and the game moves on to the mission briefing...

I tested the " 1st setting " (Force video mode: NTSC) on my friends much older TV and the game loads perfect with no screen rolling or movie cut-scenes crashes.

Im trying to find out if there is any way to play my game without screen rolling movie cut scenes crashing.

Thanks for looking.

Will a signal converter work?

Ace Combat 4: distant thunder ( the NTSC version is called shattered skies )

I also have a game movie audio/video out of sync when playing Ace combat 5 PAL.

Thanks.

whiteline,

You can use cheat codes. I hacked them myself and I can confirm they work.

The Godfather (sles 539.67)

Codebreaker v1-9 or Gameshark/Xploder v3-4

Also, always check this thread for playing PAL games on an NTSC console.

I keep it up to date.

Hi,

I guess these are my options;

Use a PAl2NTSC Patch.

Get a PAL2NTSC signal converter.

Use a cheat enhancer code. ( where can i find instructions ? )

Buy a multisystem TV.

Edit;

How does this signal converter work and where do i hook this up on my tv ? what is a tv vertical hold ?

Thanks for the great guide.
